Resolutions flowing!

I am in full tilt with my new year's resolution!!!! The itch for RENEWAL is in my body and my mind. And the blog here is the first to feel the difference. I'm looking to make it more user-friendly (with the minimal knowledge I have with the networking world) and, to that end, I'm dividing the posts into categories.

They are as follows:

Mens sana in corpore sano: in this category you will find all my battle to keep in shape. Dietary re-education, healthy recipes, physical exercises, and the like. I will make a history with pictures of my body and the scale to monitor and evaluate my progress. Everything in order: here I will talk, mainly, about organization. This is a huge stone in my shoe that I will take off this year! I will research and tell how to have a routine of activities, use an agenda, organizational methods, lists and more lists... Home, sweet home: after the wedding I will give special attention to my little house ("inha" literally...lol). Here will be my posts about decorating, gardening, pets, in short, bed, table and bath! Mirror, mirror on the wall: the little woman category of the blog. I know I'm in the minority here, but I've been sinning a lot in this area. So, everything I learn and do about beauty, fashion, cosmetics, aesthetic procedures and stuff like that will be here. Coffee-break: this is the place to relax and socialize. That moment to clear your head and disconnect from your commitments. We will talk about parties and events in general (weddings, birthdays, baby showers, etc.), as well as films and plays that enchant me, and those trips that re-energize us. In the world of the moon: here it is something more personal. Thoughts and daydreams that go through my head here... lolrs. Poems and reflections by myself (when I feel like it) and by artists I admire.

And last but not least:

Life projects: these are projects that, unlike keeping fit or staying organized (which is routine and for life), for example, will have a beginning, middle and end or something that is very specific.

- Know thyself: I want to rescue my history by building my family tree. To do this I will have to assemble forms, interview older relatives and maybe even research in registry offices. It is a Herculean task, I know, but I am very excited about it. - Immortalizing: my husband loves to take pictures. We have many throughout these seven years together (including the courtship period). So we are going to put together albums with the most outstanding moments of each year. It is a kind of biography in pictures. Can you imagine being able to look back 50 years from now on all that we have spent together? It will be great! - Of text and soul: I want to increase my reading. I read a lot of magazines, but books are really few (and it is not for lack of acquisition!). So I'm going to take the opportunity to do reviews of the books I read. If anyone has good reading suggestions, feel free to pass them along!

Oh, I am so happy! Just by getting a little more organized, I already have a thousand ideas coming to me. Now I will program the weekly schedule so that I can dedicate myself constantly to this dear little blog.

Offline, but not that much.

Another start of the month, and a mini-balance sheet pops into my head. What was accomplished the previous month, what goals I was able to achieve... well. I have many things on my mind, many paths to follow, but I need to organize my ideas. And I've assessed that one of the negatives preventing me from achieving the results I want would be the overabundance of information I consume daily on the internet. I end up getting too much inspiration a day and not being able to put anything into action. There are probably many more people who spend more time on the internet than I do and manage to make peace with everything in their lives. I'm not in control, I feel like the time I spend on it takes some (a lot) of my energy away.

And then I came across (online, by the way) an article by a writer who challenged himself to go ONE YEAR without using the Internet, precisely because he thought it made him unproductive. In his words, "I thought it was missing the point there. I thought it was 'corrupting my soul.'" In the end, contrary to his assumptions, it's not the Internet that's to blame, but something deeper from within. Read the article here.

Well, I was going to do something similar as a writer (not a year, eh...lol), but after reading the article, I decided to adapt. First, I'm going to do a virtual detox. Next week, I'm really going to go offline to put things in their proper place. I will only have access to my institute email because it can't interfere with my work. The other week I'll be on vacation, so I'll have more time during the day to organize myself, and I'll only go in twice a week to update my blogs and organize my clouds.

In the third week, I evaluate the results of the previous weeks and, as appropriate, increase the number of sessions to three times a week with an agreed upon time limit. Over time, if I manage to use the internet productively, perhaps I'll go back to using it every day, but with constant time control.

Either way, the blog will not be abandoned, rather the opposite. I think this "challenge" will be of great benefit. I will be able to devote myself to creating posts and only use the internet while posting them, on occasion, which I will also use to respond to comments.

I have arrived at maintenance

After 3 months here I am again. Words have been scarce for me lately. Well, but I'll pop in whenever I can. From July on, I gave more focus in my weight loss process. Anyway, this month I reached my goal. I managed to eliminate 10kg!!!!!!! It was very slow, but the important thing is that the goal was reached. And during this journey I learned a lot. And I am still learning. When we do a dietary re-education (R.E. for the more intimate ones...rsrsrs) health starts to be the central pillar. Losing weight becomes a consequence.

You start to observe and evaluate each thing you put in your mouth, you start to read the whole label of the products, and many doubts appear. Technology is there to bombard us with information. The concern is to be able to absorb what is really good for your health. I usually prefer blogs and sites of nutritionists and/or physical educators, or of people who have lost weight without miracle diets and who always base their posts on the opinions of professionals in the area. Even so, conflicting information appears. I have already started to buy books on nutrition and, little by little, I am building up my opinion on the subject. And, of course, I'm becoming the "guinea pig" of my own culinary experiments...lol.

Dietary re-education is not a diet, it is a change of habits, a lifestyle. And I'm enjoying this new style. I want to make it clear that quitting bad habits doesn't happen overnight, we have to be vigilant all the time. This month, for example, because I got into the comfort zone of reaching my goal, I abused a lot of fats. It turns out that I am no longer the same and my conscience weighs much more heavily when we are aware of the temptations to which we surrender.

The advantage is that we know how to get back on track and it is up to us not to get off track again. I am right where I am and I am not going backwards. I will try to organize myself (another subject that I will talk about later) and show you how this eternal and pleasurable search for a healthy life has been and continues to be.

How to fool the urge to eat

How to fool the urge to eat

Hunger or craving for food? Do you know the difference between them? Knowing how to identify them and how to deal with them is the key to start your healthy weight loss.

The first thing we have to keep in mind is: we only need to eat what the body needs to supply our daily energy requirements. And the body tells us when to do this by giving the HUNGER signal! When we feel our stomach rumbling and even screaming (the famous growling...lolrsrsrs) it is usually time to eat yes. Of course, if we eat every three hours on average, we don't need to get to that point. Keeping an eating routine helps a lot in the weight loss process.

You know when you have that feeling that you have to put something in your mouth and you don't know what? Or, on the contrary, the "hunger" we are feeling can only be appeased with that fatter piece of pizza? Normally this is just I WANT TO EAT! Then, when you get that feeling, wait a little longer. Drink some water, in small amounts, and see how long this tactic can "fool" your brain. Many times we confuse hunger with thirst and end up eating when it is not the right moment. Keeping your mouth busy, but not with food, helps to deceive the desire to eat. At the beginning of my weight loss process, chewing sugarless gum helped me a lot. I also adopted the consumption of almonds, walnuts, nuts, and raisins. It's a healthy and functional way to kill the desire to eat CRAZY food.

Then, if after all this, you feel that the hole in your stomach is getting bigger and bigger, then you can go for that salad with grilled chicken that is really hungry!!!!! (You thought you were going to order fast food, right?) But it is possible to eat healthy and delicious and I will show you in other posts.

Start practicing these exercises constantly and you will see that being aware of what you are eating is the gateway to reaching your dream goal!
